A unique longère, typical of Brittanys stone architecture, founded in the 17th century, still boasting its original stone washing places. Perfectly located to enjoy a quiet setting and the proximity of the town centre. Ideal as a base to explore Brittany |
| | DESCRIPTION | |
This longère, typical land owners houses with stone walls, was founded in the 17th century and fully restored in order to offer both comfort and an authentic Brittany experience. It is perfectly located to enjoy a quiet setting and the proximity of the town centre. Auray is located on the south coast of Brittany, cradle of the French Celtic civilization and the only place in the world where one can come across historical sites dating back 5000 years. Traditions and culture have remained strong in this region where Folk music, dances and local dishes can be enjoyed throughout the year. One of the most famous areas of Brittany has to be Morbihan Golfe (small sea in Celtic). Gateway to the Atlantic Ocean, it is a unique place bringing together land and sea, and counts some 300 islands. Its mild and sunny climate highlights its rugged coastal beauty and will not cease to surprise you, with wild landscape changing along with the tide. Perfectly located in the Golfe, Auray is a typical and historical town with a perfectly preserved 15th century port. It is renowned for being the place where Benjamin Franklin came to shore in 1776 and required France to help the US gain its independence from the British Empire. It is an ideal base to explore Brittanys beauty as many places of interest are from easy reach of Auray. |
