| | DESCRIPTION | |
Parkzijde is a family-owned bed and breakfast, run by Martijne and Bernard, a friendly married couple who have traveled all over the world and therefore know exactly what travelers need. So we offer an excellent service and are ready to help you with any questions. Parkzijde is located just on the eastern outskirts of the old city-centre, in a lively neighbourhood with shops and restaurants from all over the world, a multicultural market, open every day and a still working windmill. Our house is a gentlemans townhouse, built in 1892. The 'Goede kamer' was formerly used as the main reception room of the house and as such was the familys best, located at the front. From this room you look out over the beautiful Oosterpark, enjoyed at all times of the year for walking, jogging and playing football and very popular during the Summer months with sun bathing, picnicing and making music. The Garden room is situated at the rear of the house and has access to its own conservatory, overlooking our garden. The room is large and extremely confortable, provided with all modern luxury. The Garden room is part of the basement, about one meter under garden level. The basement was completely renovated in 2007. Original features are still to be seen such as a section of wooden piles on which all Amsterdam houses used to built and an old brick vaulted ceiling. Very close to the house are stops for the tram and bus, bringing you in 10 minutes to the Dam, the heart of the city-centre, or to the Museum-area. But also on foot there are lots of attractions to explore, like Albert Cuypmarket, the Eastern cannels, the old harbour and the Maritime Museum with its VOC-ship. Please refer to our website for more information.
