The good Doctor and his home was excellent. We made lifelong friends with the entire town. After a long day of flying into Paris, driving to Normandy, we found our host to be like a family member welcoming us home. The view is beautiful and the walk into the local eatery and shops was like a dream to weary travelers. The museum was a tremendous surprise (the details and artifacts will amaze you. We used this as a base to travel to Mont. St. Michael after our breakfast. I still have not forgotten the tatse of his coffee and orange juice.

The trip from CDG airport (Paris) to Aromanches is about 3-4 hours to the north. The main hiway system has a lot of toll stops (app 15 euro from Paris to Aromanches). The countryside is beautiful- especially the view of the village and sea as you come into town. With a good map of the area, arriving to the B&B is fairly easy since the B&B is reasonably well marked and the owner gave good directions along with the recommendation to use mappy.com. The owner's let us check in around 1:00 pm so we could nap for a few hours due to our long journey from Kansas City, Missouri (USA). The town was great, the owner's were very nice. Although parking was a little tight, there was a small parking area next to the house. The husband speaks very good English, the wife does not speak very much English, but she is darling anyway and so nice! It is important to note that the owner's live in this B&B with their children, so expect some noise at night and during the day if you want to nap or sleep. The owner's have a variety of animals in the home and the parakeets have been taught to speak and are fun to see and seem well behaved. Breakfast for us was coffee, orange juice and rolls/croisants...not substantial, but good nontheless. The other D day beaches and American cemetary were within an hour drive, so this town was a good base for our two days in Normandy. We would recommend this B&B to others if you are looking for a modest place to sleep at a very good nightly rate.
