We stayed in the Le Grand Suite in the Victorian Cottage and our location was the most convenient we could imagine with parking immediately behind the cottage. It was close to State St., Magellens, Trinity Episcopal Church, concerts, Library, art exhibits, museums and fine restaurants. We stayed three nights and we especially loved the breakfasts delivered to our suite daily. They were suburb and they were delivered to our suite at exactly the time we specified and they were hot as well as delicious. We recently returned from a two week trip to London and our Glenbourgh Inn suite far supassed the apartment we took during our two weeks in London. We are a couple in our 60's and it was important we had ground floor accomodations. We have traveled quite a bit and we enjoyed the fact that it was optional whether we chose to mix and make meaningless small talk with other guests. There was no sense of "having to check in" as our comings and goings were private. Our keys fit our suite and the main house in the event we wished to take advantage of wine/cheese or cookies...which we didn't, but it was nice to know we could if we wished or to just hang out in its parlor. There were two fireplaces in our suite, though we didn't use either nor did we turn-on the t.v. There was a small refrig. which we did use and the space for ice fit our "blue ice" cannister so we could use it again and again with our small cooler during any day trips we took. Our bath was extremely tiny composed of a wc and a small shower which perfectly served our purpuse. The sink was artfully sunk in an antique dresser in our bedroom and I had a dressing table as well. We were greeted warmly upon our arrival by John who also saw that the gorgeous long stemmed red roses that were a surprise from my husband were in our suite when we arrived for our anniversary long weekend. We were permitted to register earlier than the posted registration times and immediate attention was paid to a concern of ours that a smoke alarm cover was hanging and possibly not connected. When we returned from our dinner it had been taken care of...much to our surprise and delight. We also had comfortable wicker chairs on the porch immediately adjacent to our room and there were tables and chairs in the garden patio. Thank you John for a wonderful weekend. We loved our stay and we look forward to our next visit to the Glenborough Inn.
