| | DESCRIPTION | |
Your Home Away from Home A classic New England Greek Revival house, our inn is located on one of Baths quiet street, away from the noise of traffic, yet within walking distance of the Kennebec River which empties into the Atlantic Ocean about 12 miles away. The house was built by two sea captains in 1842 and features an elegant staircase, wide pine floors, and six fireplaces. Guests can choose to relax, play cards, do a jigsaw puzzle, or snuggle up in front of a fire during the winter in one of the two front parlors. The library is where guests often choose to curl up and read a book or watch TV. The gardens, porch, and patio are where guests can relax and enjoy the lovely flowers and quiet. A delicious full breakfast is served in the dining room where dietary restrictions and allergies to food are taken into consideration. Afternoon tea is served in one of the parlors. Each room has its own individual décor and special touches. All rooms have a private bath, air conditioning, cable television, AM-FM radio with alarm, and telephone. A computer is available to all guests for Internet or e-mail access. Off-street parking is available, and we welcome dogs and children of all ages. Our guests have told us: You have warmheartedly welcomed us into your beautifully decorated home. We slept peacefully and had a good bath. Your Sunday morning breakfast was gorgeous. Fanny and Robbert, Amsterdam, Holland Your home is lovely, the breakfast wonderful. Thank you for taking such good care of us. Kristofer, Arlington, MA My license plate now reads: I have a friend in Bath. Rob and Toon, Massachusetts Your home is truly lovely and your hospitality embracing. The Iowa Chicks The inn is located two minutes from Route 1 and within walking distance of the downtown restaurants and shops. It is a great stopping-off point for visitors traveling to and through the Mid-coast area which has so much to offer--lovely sandy beaches for fun or romance, lighthouses, rocky Maine coastline, the Maine Maritime Museum, Bowdoin College, Maine State Theatre, Chocolate Church Arts Center, and Hyde School. Our website has additional suggestions for your travel plans.
