INFORMATION ABOUT PILOT MOUNTAIN |
The small town of Pilot Mountain is located in the northern part of North Carolina, at the foot of Pilot Mountain and the adjoining State Park. A number of other state parks are within easy reach and are a perfect setting for hiking, boating, fishing, horseback riding, swimming, golfing and hot air ballooning. Among them are Doughton State Park, Cumberland Knob, Fairystone Park, Yadkin Island Park and the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway. Bed and Breakfast travelers will delight in strolling under a canopy of maples and oaks viewing historically unique houses on historic Main Street or visiting Mabry Mill, historic Rockford Village, the Horne Creek Living Museum or the Andy Griffith Playhouse. Local festivities include the Pilot Mountain's Mayfest, Mayberry Days, Autumn Leaves Festival and Horne Creek’s Cornshucking Frolic.
