This exquisite Second Empire mansion was built in 1887 as the private home of wheelwright Adam Orris and is a registered
National Historic Landmark. Rich in original detail, the bed & breakfast inn retains its
original woodwork, banisters, pocket doors, mantels and crystal chandeliers. In order to preserve the stately grandeur of the home, the innkeeper has chosen to keep most rooms furnished in accordance with their original purpose—as parlors, music rooms, dining rooms and libraries. All of these rooms are appointed in period antiques and are open for inn guests to enjoy. Bed & breakfast guests of the inn find the Orris House Inn an ideal location for intimate receptions, small weddings, retreats and family reunions. The inn warmly welcomes children who are accompanied by well behaved parents. Bedtime milk and cookies are a specialty of the innkeeper.
