  Recipe : Grandma T's Gingerbread Cookies

Grandma T’s Gingerbread Cookies
Ingredients:
2/3 cup shortening
1 beaten egg
1- cup sugar
1/4 - cup light molasses
2- cups flour
1- teaspoon salt
1- teaspoon baking soda
1- teaspoon ground cinnamon
1- teaspoon ground ginger
1- teaspoon ground cloves
Directions:
Preheat oven at 350?F
Cream shortening and sugar.
Add egg and molasses. Beat well.
Add dry ingredients. Mix well.
Chill for two hours.
Roll cookie dough to 1/8 inch thickness.
Cut with cookie cutter.
Add cinnamon red-hot candies for face of gingerbread man cookies.
Bake for 6 minutes at 350°F.
Place on cooling rake after baking.
Makes 3 to 4 dozen cookies.
