Dot NAME Domain Name Registrations
Set up in 2001, the .NAME generic top-level domain extension is the only one meant for personal sites only. These domain names can consist of personal or fictitious names, nicknames and/or other labels people are famous by. At the beginning, just 3rd-level registrations were possible, so if you wanted to acquire john.doe.name, you had to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was liberalized and 2nd-level registrations were also permitted. Already taken third-level domain names remained functional.
Through our firm, you can acquire your dot NAME domain for a time interval between 1 and 10 years. You will have the opportunity to update the WHOIS contact details, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an already registered domain to our firm if you have its EPP transfer key from the current registrar company and we will renew it once the transfer has been completed. There are no particular regulations on who can acquire a dot NAME domain name, but in order to maintain the idea behind its creation alive, the .NAME Registry organization may verify who the Registrant is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration might be challenged.
The .NAME generic top-level domain name extension is amongst the extensions that support internationalized domains, so we can also register a domain in any language at no further cost. In this way, your dot NAME domain will be recognized in your country or region with the right spelling in your native language.
