Overview:
Founded in 1995 with the intent of creating a comprehensive B&B guidebook to provide travelers with a reliable source of information from which to plan getaways.
Currently provides information on over 2,000 B&Bs, Inns, Boutique Hotels, and Apartments located around the world.
All accommodations are officially rated or reader reviewed. Inns that receive more than two substantiated negative reviews are removed from the guide.
Guide also contains maps, city, state, and regional overviews, recipes, and innkeeper specials ranging from themed weekends to discount stays.
Guide Organization:
Guide has three access points. Travelers can type a search phrase in the search box, navigate through B&B listings, or use the regional index.
Each country and state is divided into regions. Travel overviews are provided to quickly orient the traveler to the particular destination. Example
Guide entries all have at least two photos, contact information, booking details, reviews, online booking, recipes, and more. Example
Travelers can easily flip through multiple listings in a city by clicking on the Next and Previous tabs located to the right of the listing.
Extras
A monthly travel newsletter is emailed to an opt-in list of innkeepers announcing winners of our monthly giveaway and current specials that innkeepers are offering.
Reviews that travelers send in are accessible from each entry and in one location.
Recipes and travel specials are also available.
Technology
IBBP is operated using a custom state-of the art database that allows innkeepers to easily create and update their entries from a private member area.
