INFORMATION ABOUT ARLES

Arles is situated in the center of the Provence region of France offering visitors a historic port city located on the sunny Mediterranean. Arles is most famous for being the location of many of Van Gogh's paintings. However the city is also home to wonderful medieval and Romenesque architecture including: the Roman amphitheater (now used for bullfighting and bull games during the summer festivals and the ancient Roman theater now used for ongoing theater. Other attractions of note include museum, art galleries, cafes, local markets, nightlife, wonderful dining opportunities, and more. Area festivals start around Easter with the traditional bullfighting and end in September with parades, and celebrations of the rice harvest.
