| DESCRIPTION |

The magnificent Chateau de Siorac, situated in a dominant position contemplating the valley of the river Isle, dates back to 1550. Today, after a conscientious modernization and restoration, the Chateau de Siorac opens its doors warmly as a luxurious French Bed and Breakfast.
Inside the Chateau you will enjoy the craftsmanship of those who built it. A monumental fireplace dating back to the 17th century dominates the dining room , ancient wood paneling covers the living room, the entry hall and the dining room, and the wallpaper carrying the initials of the Beupoil family dresses the living room with superb elegance. Massive exposed oak beams covered in intricate plaster work, mosaics, delightful parquets, 5m (15ft) ceilings, fireplaces, stone walls and floors, all are part of an ancient theme that has only improved in appearance with time.
Outside you will be delighted by a wealth of wild vegetation and formal gardens that stretch over an area of approximately 40 acres. The newly planted formal gardens contain around 2000 boxwoods, 400 rose bushes, trees and rhododendrons. The wild woodlands flourish with oaks, pines, chestnuts and acacias and many varieties of edible mushrooms. You are welcome to explore as much as you wish of this plentiful environment.
We are located at only 10km from Perigueux, the capital of the Dordogne, which constitutes an ideal starting point for the discovery of countless towns and villages some of which have been awarded the “most beautiful towns of France” status. Amongst these towns are Sarlat, Domme, Le Bugue, Brantome, Montignac, Les Eyzyes, Belves, Bergerac and Saint Emilion, all of which are within one hour’s drive from the Chateau. And of course, there is also much to explore in Perigueux itself: the Roman ruins, museums, festivals, etc. Or you may decide to wander around the medieval center with its wonderful open market on Saturdays which will transport you to a magical era. Without a doubt, the Dordogne captures the essence of France, and we are at its heart.
