INFORMATION ABOUT HESSE | |
This region covers the central southern part of Germany and although its capital is Wiesbaden, an important spa center, the most important city is Frankfurt, a world-class economic metropolis. Its exhibition site is one of the most important in the whole of Europe. Hesse has volcanic regions, vineyards, wild areas as well as cultivated regions. Some of its most interesting cities besides Frankfurt and Wiesbaden, include Fulda, an Episcopal area with distinct baroque style architecture, Marburg, Giessen, Bergstrasse and Rheingau, the two latter ones being important winemaking centers of the region. Bed and breakfast travelers visiting this region should make stops at the Schloss Wilhelmshoehe, the Marktkirche in Wiesbaden, the Eulenturm in Spangenberg and the Historisches Fachwerkdorf in Helsa. |
