DESCRIPTION  
Clonmore Lodge is a modernized 400 year old landlords summer residence in Mid-West Clare Ireland. It is situated three hundred feet over sea level and gives a unique panoramic view ranging from the Arran Islands, Cliffs of Moher and the Twelve Pins of Connemara to the North, to the Killard Point and the distant Dingle Penninsula to the South. Run by the Daly family in whose ownership it is for 160 years, it combines farming activities and tourism in a relaxed atmosphere.
The farm consists of 40 hectares with a sucking cow herd. Here visitors can enjoy fresh air activities such as tractor rides, feeding calves, going to the turf bog,or collecting eggs. Pony riding is available to children in the safe sand arena under supervision. The locality has a fine selection of restaurants. Some serve very fine fresh seafood caught locally.
Seafield, which is a safe, sandy 3 km long beach is within 20 mins walk from the house. West Clare is endowed with a variety of safe Blue Flag Beaches, Lahinch, Spanish Point and Kilkee.
Explore the wild and rugged Loophead peninsula. Visit the market town of Kilrush famous for its Vanderuer walled garden and Marine Creek. Go dolphin watching on the Shannon from the Marina. Take a boat trip to nearby Scattery Island with its 6th century Saint Senans Church and Round Tower. On to Kilkee renowned as a family resort with its beautiful arked sandy beach, indoor swimming pool, water world and leisurely cliff walks. From Kilkee drive the coastline on "The Loop Drive" with cliffs just as spectacular as cliffs of Moher to the Bridges of Ross. On the way back is the village of Doonbeg host to the awesome newly developed Greg Norman designed golf links course. Stroll through the nearby bird sanctuary on the local peat land.
Visit the 600 feet highest Cliff in Moher, Northwards via Doolin around Blackhead its panoramic views of Galway Bay to Ballyvaughan. Visit the Burren National Park with its unique flora and fauna,its historical remains covers the whole spectrum of Irish Archeology. In Kilfenora visit the ruined Cathedral, High Cross and Burren display center. On to Ennistymon, North Clare market town with its picturesque waterfall,then to Lahinch with its Championship Golf Course, safe sandy beach, Leisure center, aquarium and indoor swimming pool. Visit Ennis capital and historical town of County Clare famous for its narrow walkway streets and its 13th Century Franciscan Friary. Organized walks can be joined giving the visitor an insight into many historical buildings in Ennis.On to Quin, site of 1242 A.D. Franciscan Friary. From Clonmore Lodge drive through Miltown Malbay renowned Irish Music center. On through Lisdoonvarna, a famous Spa resort. Then take the Cork-screw hill route, famous for car rallying and hill climbing, on to Ballyvaughan gateway to the Burren, Kinvara with its Medieval banquets, on to Clarrenbridge of the succulent Oyster and then to Galway-city of the tribes. This university city with its modern Cathedral and spectacular salmon weir offers the shopper many and varied shopping malls and restaurants.
