Whether you plan to try some Pecorino from Pienza or some of Tuscany’s famous wines or discover the antiquities of Arezzo, the treasures of Cortona, Montepulciano and Siena or the tranquillity that is Assisi – or a day trip to Florence - (an hour by train) - Just a few of the ideas to contemplate whilst you sit back and relax by our heated swimming pool enjoying the changing Tuscan vista that surround Casa Portagioia
Casa Portagioia offers 5 independent guest bedrooms and 2 suite apartments, all with luxury bathrooms. Four of the bedrooms and both apartments benefit from air-conditioning. Our accommodations are fresh and inviting. For a Tuscan country B&B you’ll find everything ‘just so’ from our comfortable orthopaedic beds to the modern bright bathrooms to the lovely views of the gardens and surrounding Tuscan hillside.
Breakfast can be quite a perilous activity. You might find yourself sitting on our terraces for hours on end – taking in the views, sipping a fresh cappuccino when you had planned to be on the road discovering more than just our beautiful valley – such is the relaxed style at Casa Portagioia
You might also be at Casa Portagioia for one of our dinner parties. During the summer these take place on one of our terraces overlooking the bucolic splendour of the valley. A five-course feast is served – and you might like to try some of Tuscany’s finest and award winning wines from our cellar.

From here you can visit Arezzo, Assisi, Montepulciano, Siena, Florence, Perugia, Montalcino, Pienza, the Chianti region and many other delightful Tuscan and Umbrian towns - All within an hours drive.
Thre is a train station at Castiglion Fiorentino with trains to Florence and Rome. The closest airports are Florence, Pisa, Rome and Bologna.
We serve a light lunch around to pool together with other refreshments and Dinner is available twice a week. Dinner is a five course set menu (designed around guest’s preferences) and is a leisurely affair that can go on for a couple of hours. During dinner our guests can get to know one another and recant their outings and planned trips around Tuscany and Italy.

The countryside around Pieve Di Chio and Castiglion Fiorentino is some of the most beautiful you’ll find in Tuscany. Cypress trees together with olive groves, vines, oaks and evergreens are in abundance. Spring sees a mass of crimson poppies and during June, July and August, the famous Tuscan sunflowers strain themselves to capture the last ray of Tuscan sun!
