| DESCRIPTION |
|
La Limonaia - originally the lemon hothouse - is a separate part of the ancient Villa Battaglia, a country house built in the 1500's at Bagno a Ripoli on the Tuscan hills covered by olive trees, with magnificent view of Florence.
The center of which lies at a distance of 3 miles. The bus stop is at 700 mt and allows to reach Bagno a Ripoli (with its shops and services) as well as the downtown of Florence.
The Highway Firenze Sud is at 2 miles and allows to reach Siena, Lucca etc.
A private garden, in romantic eighteen-century style lies in front of the Limonaia and open like a terrace on Florence and the surrounding countryside. Its central location makes it the perfect starting point for about ten itineraries which can be covered by foot or bike, as well as offering sports, cultural and relaxing activities including visits to ancient farms producing high-quality olive oil, wine, fresh vegetables and eggs.
Moreover, by a 15 minutes drive along "the Chianti way" you may reach the Ugolino Golf Club, a particular itinerary along which may be visited noble Tuscan castels, the oldest and most famous Tuscan wineries as well as the small towns of Greve in Chianti, Gaiole in Chianti, Brolio etc.
How to reach the Limonaia:
A1 Highway Milano-Roma Take the exit Firenze Sud and next the motorway (tangenziale); stay on it until the indication "Bagno a Ripoli" appears on the right side. Exit the motorway and follow the indications "Bagno a Ripoli" until you reach the main square of Bagno a Ripoli where there are two Banks on the right and on the left. Go straight on following Via Roma which goes up the hill. Follow this road until you reach a small square with bus station and a gas station. After 200 mt turn left an arch built through a house (Arco del Camicia). This is the starting point of Via di Terzano.
After a few hundred meters you will see a Church on the right. Pass the Church and after a contiguous house turn right and in about thirty meters you will reach La Limonaia.
