The Mid-Atlantic region encompasses Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Virginia. Pennsylvania offers charming small towns, Lancaster and Pennsylvania Dutch Country and historic Philadelphia. For nature and mountain ranges check out Virginia's Shenandoah Valley, the spectacular Blue Ridge and Alleghany Mountains or delight in seaside activities in destinations like Cape Charles, and along the Chesapeake Bay. Some of the best museums and iconic monuments can be found in Washington D.C., such as the Smithsonian Museum, Lincoln Memorial, the White House, Arlington National Cemetery and so much more. Maryland is a great state if you enjoy historical landmarks that designate its part in the development of the United States. Check out the city of Baltimore, only 25 minutes from Washinton, D.C. and its historic district full of museums, shopping, cafes and restaurants. Finally, New Jersey offers bed and breakfast travelers sandy beaches, gaming in Atlantic City, historic sites such as the famous Newark Museum and Historic Cold Spring Village in Cape May. But all six states are full of fun travel and recreation for all ages. |
