| Captain Grant's, 1754 is on the National Register of Historic Places, located in a Village incorporated in 1687. It was used as a Garrison in the Revolutionary War and a haven for slaves in the Civil War. Built by a ships Captain it boasts a 71/2 foot wide staircase, extensive Rufus Porter stye mural and several commom rooms. A chess board is always set up. Other games are available. Outside is a three tier post and beam deck where you can enjoy a glass of wine in the evening or early morning cup of coffee. Rooms may include four poster canopy beds, fireplaces, open beamed ceilings and night time sherry. All rooms have full private baths and color cable tv. A full country breakfast is served in our dining room or on the deck in summer. Complimentary wine, beer and soda is available in the kitchen. You may make yourself a cup of coffee or tea at your convenience. Dessert is always on the dining room table. Maps are given upon arrival.
