| DESCRIPTION |
|
The Yellow Rose Inn has been created to offer travelers on the road of life a rest stop marked by beauty for the eyes, nurturing for the body, happiness for the heart, and memories for the mind.
All 4 suites have full access to the 8000 sq. ft. 1898 late Victorian Mansion. The home has many museum quality antiques, such as 3 working fireplaces on the ground floor of extraordinary carved walnut and marble. Museum quality chandeliers grace the rooms as does outstanding beveled glass and stained glass. The artwork includes a hand painted mural in the main hallway by Wendell Field, which surrounds a marble wall fountain from the original Indianapolis School of Law, torn down in the 1980’s. All guests are encouraged to use the exceptional kitchen with the cabinets alone in its major 1980 restoration costing $35,000.00. The porches, wedding platform and gardens are an inviting place to retreat from the busy world.
The Wedgewood Suite:
As the original master suite of the house, the very large master bedroom with gas log fireplace welcomes its guests to quiet elegance. A sitting room separates the master bedroom from an extraordinary bathroom.
The Oak Room:
This large master bedroom features a white oak ceiling canopy opposite a fine example of a Queen Anne “quarter sawed” oak fireplace mantel with working gas log. A modern shower is attached to a large bathroom featuring a massive porcelain tub.
The Emerald Suite:
Features a sitting room with queen sized hide a Bed. The bedroom of the suite is beautifully appointed and the bathroom shared with these two rooms and completing the suite features ceramic tile to the ceiling in the old Victorian tradition.
The Ballroom Suite:
"One of Indiana's largest guest suites with 1800 sq. ft. of white oak flooring with a brand new oak & ceramic kitchen, features a raised king sized sleeping pavillion, a rare 1873 Brunswick "Monarch" pool table, new two person jetted hot tub, seperate bedroom with queen sized bed, full bathroom, lounge area with plum leather couch & new 32" TV -- and the 1200 sq. ft. roof deck with 6 person jetted hot tub overlooking the downtown Indianapolis skyline.
