| DESCRIPTION |
|
The Coach Stop Inn, built c. 1804, is a historic Bar Harbor, Maine bed and breakfast which has long served its coastal Mount Desert Island community as a stagecoach stop and tavern. It is the oldest surviving lodging establishment in the Acadia National Park area and has recently celebrated its Bicentennial Season.
The weathered shingled building has been completely restored, yet has retained the unique characteristics of this rural tavern dating to the time of Thomas Jefferson's presidency. It harmoniously blends the warmth of original wide plank pine floors and ancient exposed beam ceilings, with modern day comforts, such as luxury linens and towels, and amenity baskets by Yardley of London. The recently redone and decorated rooms and suites will surely charm you with their extra touches. All rooms and suites have queen beds fitted in the finest bedding, and private baths await with luxurious spa towels. For added comfort and convenience all accommodations offer in-room refrigerators and air conditioning. |
