| Built c. 1750, The Melville House is on the National Register of Historic Places and is located in the Heart of Newport's Historic Hill District on a quiet street of interesting old colonial buildings - just one block up from Thames Street with its Brick Market, wharves, restaurants and shops. The fabled Newport Mansions, the Ocean Drive, Cliff Walk and beaches are all nearby. The rooms are furnished in a Colonial style. A romantic fireplace suite is available during the winter months. A full homemade breakfast is served in a sunny breakfast room and a afternoon tea features delicious refreshments. |
