  Recipe : The Very Best Sour Cream Coffee Cake

Preheat oven to 325 degrees
Butter a 10 inch tube pan
3 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoon each, baking powder & baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
sift together and set aside
3 sticks of butter - room temp
1 1/2 cups sugar
beat these together until fluffy, then add:
4 eggs, beaten carefully as each is added
1 1/2 cups sour cream
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
blend these into the butter, sugar, and eggs
gradually add the sifted dry ingredients and beat well.
Combine: 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 1/2 teaspoons nutmeg
1 cup finely chopped walnuts or pecans
Turn 1/3 of batter into tube pan.
Sprinkle with 1/2 of nut mix
Repeat with 1/3 of batter and remaining nut mix
Add remainder of batter, spreading so edges are sealed to the pan.
Prepare a cup with 2 Tablespoons vanilla mixed with
2 Tablespoons water. Pour over top of batter.
Bake 70 minutes. Cool 10 minutes before removing from the pan. This will stay moist for days!
