INN SETTING:
|
The Jordaan is a dense patch of small-scale streets and canals peppered with interesting shops, galleries, charming 'hofjes' and inviting brown cafes. Quirky and characterful, with an intimate, easy-going atmosphere of it's own. It was built for workers at the same time as the Grachtengordel. We know, for example, that on our premises in former days lived and worked a master carpenter and his family (around 1663) and a printersfamily (since 1933). | |

A picturesque detail is the old craftsmanship tile in our gable. It is a historic part of the Jordaan since 1663. When B&B Jordaan opened its doors in 2001 it was skilfully renovated with help of the Amsterdam Gable-sign Fund (catch a glimpse at our website). |
| | DESCRIPTION | |
B&B Jordaan, is named after its neighbourhood, a dense patch of small-scale streets and canals peppered with interesting shops, galleries, charming 'hofjes' and inviting brown cafes. Quirky and characterful, with an intimate, easy-going atmosphere of it's own. It was built for workers at the same time as the Grachtengordel. So B&B Jordaan was around 1663 the premises of a master carpenter and his house was rebuild around 1933 by a printers family. The picturesque craftsmanship tile in our gable tells the story. Nowadays we offer comfortable rooms in a quiet street. We try to offer a good balance between privacy, attention and help. We know our city well and are looking forward to share this knowledge with you. For example we can offer nice and well informed guides for a normal price and if necessary a low taxi-fee to the airport. All the tourist sites and Central Station are at walking distance but you can also reach them by (mostly) direct bus/tram connections from the bus/tram-stop 250 m. from our house. Due to our accommodation and hospitality we received the Bedandbreakfast.com Award -Europe 2007/08. This Award is based on a profound analysis of guest reviews and we're the only B&B in Amsterdam that has ever received it. If you want to know more: go to the review links on our website.
