INFORMATION ABOUT VANCOUVER |
The city of Vancouver is nestled between snow-capped mountains and the Pacific Ocean, in the southwestern corner of British Columbia, 40km (25mi) north of the US border. The city is and ideal base for bed and breakfast visitors who sail, rock climb, or ski. All of these activities are within an hour's drive of Vancouver's core. But the great outdoors is also right in Vancouver. Stanley Park, on the edge of the downtown, is one of the world's great urban parks. And on English Bay in the nearby West End of Vancouver, sandy beaches are literally minutes away from downtown's chrome-and-glass office towers. Other attractions include the Vancouver Marine Science Centre, China Town, the HR MacMillan Space Centre, several Botanical Gardens, Canada Place and festivals such as the Polar Bear Swim, Canada Day, Jazz Festival, Folk Festival and much more.
