| DESCRIPTION |
|
Enjoy boutique shopping, fine dining, coffee houses and sight-seeing in the Point Grey Village as well as easy, fast access to Vancouver's downtown core(3 bus stops, 10 to 15 mins max) and to the University of British Columbia (5 mins / one bus stop) while staying at gorgeous Casa Mora in spectacular Vancouver, British Columbia! This is an excellent location, on Vancouver's west side in a beautiful neighbourhood on a quiet, tree-lined street where all the homes and the parks as well the streets have beautiful gardens. Casa Mora seeks to meet the needs of vacationers as well as business visitors. We are primarily an adult-oriented facility but will also accommodate families with children, primarily in our garden suite, depending on other bookings and the time of year, etc. Our Penthouse suite is very popular with honeymooners and for couples seeking a romantic getaway. High speed internet is available by direct cable plug or by wireless to your laptop. Local phone calls are free.
Casa Mora is near many excellent restaurants, delis, bakeries, coffee houses, great boutique style shopping, and the best beaches and parks in the city. An express bus to the downtown stops 2 blocks from the door, where you will also find the above shops as well as banks, post office, produce stores, two fresh seafood stores, clothing stores, a card shop, a stationery store, a library, dry cleaners, book stores, kitchen stores, gift shops, a butcher, organic food outlets, an Italian gourmet coffee house, deli & bakery; and just about every service imaginable. Casa Mora offers two self-catering suites - the Penthouse and the Garden suite(described below) each with private entrances and kitchens; and a more traditional bed and breakfast room, the Magnolia Room on the main floor of the house.
Casa Mora Penthouse Suite:
This spectacular self-catering view suite has balconies facing both north and south. It has a private entrance and views to the North of Grouse Mountain & Cypress Bowl. It is equipped with a dishwasher, microwave, large fridge & gas cooktop (or use the BBQ in our garden), so you can make your own meals or choose to eat out, order in, or by arrangement, perhaps join our other guests in the dining room (extra fee would apply). The views to the sunny south side are of the exotic garden, the 'grand canyon' hot tub, the back deck, the garden and the Douglas Fir forests of Pacific Spirit Park. The south deck has a wonderful Mexican hammock, a decorative iron and sandblasted glass table and chair set, a decorative iron two seater rocker, and other deck furniture/functional art. The Penthouse also has an adobe gas fireplace, a cozy window-seat with a fouton mattress, a radio, a DVD/television with multistation cablevision including CNN and high speed internet access. An extra desk/table and chair are available for business guests. A hairdryer, iron and ironing board are supplied in this suite and in the Garden suite. There is a telephone with free local calling and calling cards may be used for long distance. An answering service/private voicemail is available for guests on request. The floorplan is open, with the balconies opening off the main living area. Aircondtioning is never needed in this suite where you open opposing doors and enjoy a wonderful cross breeze at any time of the year. Vancouver's climate is mild/temperate - not one that requires air conditioning in the first place but on even the warmest day of the year this suite can be made even cooler by simply opening the windows and balcony doors. Summer evenings in Vancouver are typically cool and sleep loss due to the heat is not a problem we are familiar with in our city. The Penthouse's kitchen/dining area is offset from the main living area and the suite has a large walk-in closet and a wonderful, private bathroom finished in granite and mosaic marble. There are 4 beautiful, restored, stained-glass windows in the Penthouse and the floors in the kitchen, living room and bedroom area are finished with Mexican tiles, Italian tiles and marble/granite mosaic inserts. Parking is in the street and is not a problem. Our neighbourhood is safe and quiet. Be sure to see the online virtual tour via our home web site.
Casa Mora Garden Suite:
A beautiful, one bedroom, fully-furnished and fully equipped, self-contained suite with a private entrance, private bathroom and a garden patio. Cooking facilities include a small fridge, a microwave/convection oven, a two burner electric cooktop as well as dishes and cooking utensils and access to the BBQ in the garden. This self-catering suite also has a Television/VCR, multichannel cablevision, including CNN, direct cable plug-in for high speed internet to your laptop, a CD player/radio, a private telephone line with voicemail and free local calling. The bedroom has a very comfortable Queen bed, occasional chair, large closet and built-in dresser. You will find a Mexican hammock and outdoor furniture in the garden as well as the wonderful 'grand canyon' style hot tub. Parking is in the street. This is a safe, very quiet neighbourhood.
The Magnolia Room:
This room is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The window looks north onto the Magnolia tree in the front garden. Rates for this more traditional bed and breakfast room include breakfast, served in the dining area of the main floor of the house. The Magnolia room is finished in finely textured stucco and hard wood sills. The floor is tiled with coral coloured Italian tiles. This room has a large ensuite bathroom with a tub, shower and pedestal sink and is beautifully tiled in Brasilian emerald green, white and sand colored tiltes. The Magnolia room has a telephone on a shared line (local calls are free) and internet access to your laptop is available by way of a wireless card which is very simply installed. There is also a CD player/Clock radio.
Travelling with a friend or colleague but want your own room? Ask about a discount for sharing your bathroom. The other person in your party can then stay in our 'extra' room which is booked only when the Magnolia Room guests are willing to share with their own family, friend or colleague/co-traveller. Otherwise, this en suite bath is a private en suite bath, for Magnolia room guests only.
