| Nestled among the centuries old oaks on the famed streetcar line, the Avenue Inn Bed and Breakfast is an 1891 Thomas Sully Queen Ann style mansion. It features original high ceilings, hardwood floors and period furnishings throughout. Guestrooms are located on three levels accessible from our grand staircase. All rooms are unique and have been lovingly decorated by the owners. Each accommodation offers private bath facilities; many have spacious sitting areas and views of St. Charles Avenue. Our personalized service will put you in touch with restaurants, arts and cultural events, museums, sightseeing, antique shops, and tours. Take a casual stroll to unique shopping on Magazine Street, where you will find specialty boutiques, fine bistros and lively nightspots. Notable restaurants in our immediate include Commander’s Palace, Emeril Lagasse’s Delmonico, Upperline, Pascal Manale’s, Copeland’s, Fat Harry’s Pub, and Cannon’s (next door). Enjoy the excitement of Mardi gras celebration just steps from your room where you can watch all 18 Mardi Gras parades that march down St. Charles Avenue in front of our inn! Your innkeepers, Joe and Bebe, invite you to drift back to the splendor of the past during your visit to New Orleans. |
