| DESCRIPTION |
|
We invite anyone to come and see Bare Cove B&B and its remarkable facilities. The elegant Tudor-style, brick and stucco house was built in 1929 by the innkeeper's father, a Harvard-educated architect. The grounds are carefully groomed and the furnishings in the two suites are stylish and suggestive of earlier periods in American history, such as the Revolutionary War or the Civil War. The interior of the house matches the exterior in terms of style, quality and setting. On the ground floor there are shiny original natural oak floors that lead from the wide entrance hall to the dining room and into the Great Room, with its walnut-brown stained rafters and its two candelabra-style circular ceiling lights. Outside the house, the landscaped 2.15 acres of grounds reveal a series of ten soldier-like majestic oaks and one Norwegian pine – all over 100 years old and standing sentinel.
Breakfast consists of fruits, cereal, croissants, freshly squeezed orange juice, coffee or tea, ham and cheese sandwiches. Once guests are ready to explore the surrounding area your hosts will be happy to help plan your travel and dining or you can simply stay on the grounds and enjoy the peace, quiet and the proximity to nature in the surrounding forests and woods. |
