| DESCRIPTION |
|
The Berry Preserve Bed and Breakfast is a tranquil, ten-acre woodland retreat just 60 minutes from New York City and 4 minutes off I-78 at Exit 7. Guests can pause beneath wispering pines or amble down to the fern-lined brook, where they might spot wild turkey or munch on wild berries in season. They will find a world of arts and crafts in the three handsome guest rooms. Travel treasures such as carved Burmese temple shutters in common rooms make the airy decor of this contemporary guest home unforgettable. A delicious full breakfast is served in the sunny, skylit dining room graced by Turkish miniatures and Greek ceramics.
The Berry Preserve lies in a beautiful rural and mountainous area of western New Jersey known as the Skylands. Quaint historic villages nearby provide clues to the origins of East Coast settlement - and are also renown for antiques, vineyards, fine dining, golf, arts venues, museums and festivals. Three scenic rivers, 3 handsome reservoir/recreation areas and numerous nature preserves and parks provide visitors with great hiking, birding, fishing, sailing, tubing, kayaking and other water sports. All are within 15 miles of the Preserve.
Owners Diann and Steve Berry hope to make the fine/practical arts and crafts accessable to every guest. They offer "learning experiences" or mini-course packages periodically and also provide art materials gratis for those who wish to capture the Preserve's natural beauty on paper.
